"Notre Dame de Paris" is a novel written by French writer Victor Hugo, first published on January 14, 1831. "Notre Dame de Paris" wrote a story about France in the 15th century in a bizarre and contrasting way: Claude, the deputy bishop of Notre Dame de Paris, was a poet, a snake-hearted, first-time love and hate, and persecuted Giselle's Esmeralda. The ugly, heart-warming knocker, Quasimodo, saves the girl. The novel exposes the hypocrisy of religion, declares the bankruptcy of asceticism, and praises the kindness, friendship, and self-denial of the working people in the lower class, reflecting Hugo's humanitarian thought. The novel has been adapted into films, TV series and musicals.

Victor Hugo, a French romantic writer, a representative of humanism, a bourgeois democratic writer in the history of French literature, almost experienced all major events in France in the 19th century, known as "Shakespeare of France." I have written many poems, novels, scripts, various prose and literary criticisms and political articles throughout my life, which are influential figures in France. Hugo has been in the creative process for more than 60 years. His works include 26 volumes of poems, 20 volumes of novels, 12 volumes of scripts, and 21 volumes of philosophical theory, totaling 79 volumes.

In France, the Bourbon dynasty, overthrown by the bourgeois revolutionary regime, was restored in 1815 with the support of foreign feudal forces. It was not until 1830 that the "July Revolution" broke out in France, ending the feudal rule of the Bourbon restoration dynasty. Under the rule of the restoration of the dynasty, the French courts and churches were vilified and oppressed the people. At that time in Paris, the religious forces were evil and dark, and the feudal system was very cruel. The humanity under the suppression of feudalism was distorted. All sectors of society, especially the lower classes, are in a deep sympathy. The oppressed people fought back and fought bravely against the two forces and finally won. Hugo felt the darkness and cruelty of feudal rule and created the "Notre Dame de Paris", reflecting the real life through the Parisian society of the 15th century. The title of "Notre Dame de Paris" refers to the place where the story takes place-Notre Dame de Paris. In 1829, Victor Hugo set out to create "Notre Dame de Paris", also to let the people at that time understand the value of this Gothic building.
